1. Who we are

Rose Label is a software product developed and operated by Rose Etiket, a company based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG), Rose Etiket is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Personal data we collect

We only collect data that is necessary to provide our website, software, and support. Depending on how you use Rose Label, this can include:

  • Account data — name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you register an account.
  • Order and licensing data — billing details, purchased plan, registered system/hardware identifiers, and license files, needed to activate and manage your software licenses.
  • Payment data — payments are processed by our payment provider, Mollie. We do not store your card or bank details ourselves; see section 5.
  • Support and feedback messages — anything you submit via the contact or feedback forms, including your name, email, and message content.
  • Usage data — page views and click interactions on our website, collected only with your consent through first-party analytics (see section 4). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

3. Why we process your data and on what legal basis

  • To provide our services (account management, license issuance, order processing) — necessary for the performance of a contract with you.
  • To respond to support, contact, and feedback requests — necessary for the performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in supporting our customers.
  • To keep our website and software secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and users.
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it — based on your consent, given (or withdrawn) via the cookie banner or the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as retaining invoices for tax purposes.

4. Cookies and local storage

Rose Label does not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. The website stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage, grouped into two categories:

  • Strictly necessary — keeps you signed in, remembers items in your shopping cart, and remembers your language preference. These are required for the site to function and are not subject to consent.
  • Analytics (optional) — first-party page-view and click statistics that help us understand which pages are useful. This data is collected only by us, is never sold or shared with third parties, and is only enabled if you accept it in the cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the website footer.

5. Who we share your data with

We only share personal data with service providers (processors) who help us run Rose Label, under data processing agreements that require them to protect your data:

  • Mollie — our EU-based payment provider, to process payments and subscriptions.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to host our website, application, and database.
  • Email delivery services — to send transactional emails such as order confirmations and account notifications.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. International data transfers

We aim to store and process personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA) wherever possible. Where a service provider processes data outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active and afterwards only as long as necessary to meet legal and tax retention obligations (typically up to 7 years for financial records under Dutch law). Contact and feedback messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form and is not used to identify you individually.

8. Your rights under the GDPR

As a data subject in the EU, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Receive your data in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for example, for analytics), without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal;
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local EU supervisory authority.

9. Data security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls — to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

10. Children's privacy

Rose Label is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services or the law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
